The journey of Project Smile began in 2012 with a visit to several slums in Bangalore. What we witnessed was both heart-wrenching and transformative—the sheer depth of suffering and hardship was overwhelming. The experience opened our eyes to the stark realities faced by so many, making us acutely aware of how fortunate we had been in our own lives. In that moment, we felt an undeniable calling to channel our blessings into meaningful action, to bring hope and support to those in dire need.

We draw inspiration from a timeless story that beautifully captures the essence of our mission: An elderly man once approached a scholar and said, ‘I am old and cannot do much. Teach me something simple yet profound that will bring me closer to God.’ The scholar paused to reflect before replying, ‘Make a person smile!’
